Slip knot

Every project starts with a slip knot: an adjustable loop that sits on your hook.

  1. Step 1

Make a loop with the yarn, so the tail end crosses over the end that goes to the ball.

  2. Step 2

Reach through the loop and pull up a new loop from the yarn that goes to the ball.

  3. Step 3

Put this new loop on your hook and pull both ends gently until it is snug, but still slides.

Good to knowThe loop should move easily on the hook. If it is tight, your first chains will be tight too.
